TV drug ads would show prices

The bill would require HHS to write rules within one year. If enacted, direct-to-consumer TV ads for prescription drugs covered by Medicare or Medicaid would have to show a truthful, not misleading list price. The price would be the amount on the first day of the quarter when the ad runs. It would show the cost for a typical 30‑day supply or a usual course of treatment. HHS would set the format, enforcement, whether to add more price details, and whether to extend the rule to other types of ads.
