Blocks new tariffs on coffee imports

This bill would stop the government from raising import tariffs on coffee from countries with Normal Trade Relations. Tariffs could not be higher than the rate charged on January 19, 2025. It would cover roasted and decaf coffee, coffee husks and skins, and any substitutes that contain coffee. The cap would apply even if other laws allow country-specific or emergency tariffs. If passed, this could reduce price pressure for importers, roasters, shops, and consumers. The bill sets no end date and names no new dollar rate.
