No-cost PFAS testing for Medicare seniors
If enacted, Medicare would cover a PFAS blood test with no cost-sharing. The test must be ordered by a doctor and measures PFAS chemicals in your blood. Coverage would start for tests furnished on or after January 1, 2028. Medicare would pay 100% of the lower of the lab’s charge or the preventive-service fee schedule amount. This would apply only to the defined PFAS blood test for Medicare patients.
