This bill would set a time-limited, higher federal Medicaid matching rate for the District of Columbia. It creates a D.C.-specific Federal Medical Assistance Percentage floor that applies through 2029 and then reverts to the standard calculation in 2030.

Higher federal Medicaid match for DC

If enacted, DC Medicaid would get a higher federal match through 2029. For fiscal years before 2027, the match would be at least 70%. In 2027 it would be at least 65%, in 2028 at least 60%, and in 2029 at least 55%. For each year before 2030, DC would get the higher of the normal formula or these set percentages. Starting in 2030, the match would return to the normal formula.
