Show full summary
- SAF producers would get higher per-gallon credits, set at 35 cents per gallon and $1.75 per gallon for two categories of qualified facilities.
- The bill narrows what qualifies as sustainable aviation fuel by requiring ASTM standards and excluding fuels derived from palm fatty acid distillates or petroleum.
- It changes timing rules so the credit applies to fuel produced after Dec. 31, 2025 and moves the sale cutoff date to fuel sold after Dec. 31, 2033, extending when facilities can claim the credit.

Higher sustainable aviation fuel credit for producers
If enacted, the bill would raise the per-gallon clean fuel credit for sustainable aviation fuel. Fuel produced at certain qualified facilities would get $0.35 per gallon instead of $0.20. Fuel at other qualified facilities would get $1.75 per gallon instead of $1.00. The credit period for eligible fuel sales would be extended through December 31, 2033. The bill would define which fuels count as sustainable aviation fuel: they must meet ASTM D7566 or the Fischer Tropsch rules in ASTM D1655 Annex A1 and not be derived from palm fatty acid distillates or petroleum. The changes would apply to fuel produced after December 31, 2025. The bill would also update a tax-code cross-reference so the three per-gallon amounts ($0.35, $1.75, $1.00) are listed for claimants and administrators.
