FAA plan to deploy collision avoidance
This bill would require the FAA Administrator to make and send an ACAS‑X action plan (including ACAS‑X variants) to the Senate Commerce and House Transportation committees within 180 days after enactment. The FAA would publish the plan within 10 days of submission and brief those committees within 30 days. The plan would include a deployment roadmap, research, testing, and certification steps; stakeholder outreach with operators, manufacturers, pilots, and labor groups; and coordination with foreign aviation authorities. It would address ADS‑B In/Out interoperability (including rotorcraft), assess safety benefits for operators (including civil operators), and may recommend administrative or legislative actions. The Administrator could take steps to implement the plan.
