Federal Workforce Early Separation Incentives Act
Sponsored By: Representative Langworthy
In Committee
Summary
Authorizes agency heads to set voluntary separation incentive payments up to six months' pay. It ties VSIP amounts to the same calculation method used for severance pay under 5 U.S.C. 5595(c), so agencies use an existing formula to determine payment amounts.

Higher voluntary exit pay for federal workers
If enacted, eligible federal employees would be able to receive a one-time Voluntary Separation Incentive Payment (VSIP). Your agency head would set the dollar amount. The payment could be up to six months of the pay you received right before separation. The VSIP would be calculated using the same method that limits severance pay under 5 U.S.C. 5595(c). The bill would not create a new agency, funding source, or new eligibility rules.
