Conservation aid for Driftless farms
If enacted, the bill would create the Driftless Area Landscape Conservation Initiative for the Driftless Area. Producers and landowners would be able to get financial and technical help and payments for selling easements. The program would support year-round ground cover, soil rebuilding, prairie and woodland restoration, and streambank and trout-habitat work. The Secretary would carry out the initiative using $5,000,000 for each fiscal year 2027 through 2031.
