If enacted, the bill would let Armed Forces members, firefighters, and police buy homes through HUD's Good Neighbor Next Door program. For single-unit properties HUD acquires, the bill would require HUD to offer them for sale even if they are not in a revitalization area. HUD would have to amend its regulations to carry out these changes. These changes would take effect upon enactment.
