Summary
Would ban federal funding for state firearm ownership databases. The bill would bar Federal agencies from funding or supporting the creation or maintenance of databases that list firearms lawfully owned or the individuals who own them. It defines "State" to include the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the Northern Mariana Islands, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and other U.S. territories. An exception allows funding for databases that list firearms or owners reported lost or stolen.

Ban on federal funding for gun registries
This bill would bar Federal agencies from funding or otherwise supporting State firearm ownership databases. It would define "State" to include all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and U.S. territories. It would define a State firearm ownership database as any full or partial list of firearms lawfully owned or of people who lawfully own firearms. The ban would not apply to state or local lists of firearms or people reported as lost or stolen. The bill would not create new federal funding programs or penalties beyond this funding prohibition.
