  • Service members: Members who sustain a significant injury or illness or are on sick call would receive wellness checks. If they do not answer electronic or phone checks, staff must make an in-person contact and follow rules to report them missing if they cannot be found.
  • Unit commanders: Commanders would routinely review the "Commander's Critical Information Requirements" every 3 years and hold confidential wellness meetings with subordinate leaders to discuss serious medical issues affecting the unit.
  • Medical officers and civilian personnel: Each military department and the Defense Department for civilian staff would create training on accountability and how to conduct wellness checks. Courses must be offered at leadership and supervisor trainings.
