Extend Mesa County disposal authorization
If enacted, this bill would remove the September 30, 2031 end date for the Mesa County, Colorado uranium mill tailings disposal site. This would let the site's operator keep authorization until the site is filled to its design capacity. Local residents would face longer-term facility activity and potential environmental concerns near the site. The bill would not add federal funding or change other program rules.
