Directs an independent study of the 1-800-MEDICARE helpline to pinpoint service shortfalls and improvement options. The bill would require the Comptroller General to analyze customer wait times and overall satisfaction, assess staffing competency and levels, evaluate contractor performance, describe any service changes found in prior reports, review actions taken by the Secretary of Health and Human Services or contractors on past recommendations, and deliver a report to Congress within one year.
