New rules for federal prison staff safety

If enacted, the Department of Justice Inspector General would study sexual harassment and assault of federal prison staff. The study would need to be finished within 1 year after enactment. The IG would report results within 180 days after finishing the study to the Attorney General and Congress. Within 1 year after getting the report, the Attorney General would issue national rules to prevent, reduce, and punish these acts. This would apply to correctional officers and other Bureau of Prisons employees.
