Congressional Quilt Show Resolution of 2026
Sponsored By: Representative Perez
Introduced
Summary
This bill would establish a Congressional Quilting Showcase to recognize and honor American quilters and their craftsmanship. It lays out findings about quilting's history and says Congress should promote skill, ingenuity, and community through a congressional showcase. Each congressional district would run an annual lottery to pick quilts from “eligible constituents” who have won a county fair ribbon or similar recognition. The Committee on House Administration would set rules for the event. The Architect of the Capitol would display each selected quilt outside its member's House office.
