Introduced
Summary
Raises awareness of deadly counterfeit fentanyl pills. This resolution would support designating National Fentanyl Awareness Day in 2025 to highlight how fake pills endanger families and young people. It applauds federal, state, and local law enforcement for seizures that included 60 million counterfeit pills and nearly 8,000 pounds of fentanyl powder in 2024, cites over 84,000 drug-induced deaths in a recent 12-month period with more than 58,000 involving illicit fentanyl, and encourages using existing authorities to stop the spread of illicit counterfeit pills.
