The bill would designate that week to recognize Hispanic-Serving Institutions for expanding college access for low-income and underserved students and for promoting economic mobility, noting 615 HSIs enrolled more than 5.6 million students in 2023–24 and that HSIs serve 66.2 percent of Hispanic undergraduates.
