Allow plant-based milk for students
If enacted, National School Lunch Program schools could offer plant-based milk along with fluid milk. Plant-based milks not listed in current federal guidelines could be served if they meet nutrition standards the Secretary sets. The bill would change statute language (for example replacing "Fluid milk" with "Milk") and make conforming edits. These changes would take effect upon enactment.
