Summary
Would ban smoking at all Veterans Health Administration facilities for everyone on the premises. It would define “facility of the Veterans Health Administration” to include medical centers, nursing homes, domiciliary facilities, outpatient clinics, and readjustment counseling centers that are under VHA control. The bill would define “smoke” to cover both burning tobacco products and electronic nicotine delivery systems like e-cigarettes and vape pens. It would add a new section 1715 to title 38 and repeal section 526 of the Veterans Health Care Act of 1992.

Ban on smoking at VA facilities
If enacted, this bill would ban smoking on the premises of any Veterans Health Administration facility. The ban would apply to every person on site, including veterans, patients, residents, VA employees, contractors, and visitors.
