Lease extensions for park businesses

If enacted, the bill would let the Secretary of the Interior extend certain National Park leases without competitive bidding. This applies only to leases entered under part 18 of title 36, as in effect on January 3, 2025. The lease must have been entered at least five years before the extension takes effect and must be in compliance with its terms. The Secretary must also determine the extension is in the best interests of the park unit's administration. The Secretary would have to revise part 18 to reflect this authority within 90 days after enactment. The bill does not authorize funding or create a new program.
