Sponsored By: Senator Sen. Hassan, Margaret Wood [D-NH]

Introduced

Summary

Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 1 costs, 0 mixed.

New job code for DSPs

If enacted, the bill would direct OMB to consider creating a separate Standard Occupational Classification code for direct support professionals in the first SOC revision after enactment. If OMB chooses not to create the code, OMB would have to send a report explaining the decision to two congressional committees within 30 days after that SOC revision. This would be a statistical change only and would not itself provide funding or change wages.

No new funding for this Act

If enacted, the bill would specify that no additional funds are authorized to carry out this Act. Agencies would have to use existing funds to do the work. This provision would not itself spend money or create a new funding stream.
