Motorcycle awareness in driver education
This bill would require states to add motorcyclist awareness to driver education and safety courses. States would have to meet three highway safety criteria instead of two, and one must be this driver-education item. Courses would teach and test state motorcycle laws (for example, lane-splitting and lane-filtering) and share-the-road rules for motorcycles and scooters. The change would take effect two years after the law is enacted.
