If enacted, this joint resolution would declare the Equal Rights Amendment valid as part of the Constitution. It would do so notwithstanding any time limit in House Joint Resolution 208 (92nd Congress). The resolution finds the amendment was ratified by the legislatures of three‑fourths of the several States. If enacted, this would take effect upon enactment and could let people challenge sex‑ or gender‑based discrimination in jobs, government programs, and private actions.
