- Families and rural communities: Rangelands cover about 770 million acres, roughly 36 percent of U.S. land. They support domestic production of beef, lamb, wool, and hides.
- Ranchers and pastoralists: The resolution spotlights ranchers, nomads, and transhumant herders as stewards using traditional knowledge and science-based grazing practices. More than 50 percent of the national sheep herd and 60 percent of the Western cattle herd spend time on federal public rangelands.
- Federal agencies, universities, and conservation partners: It would encourage these groups to run education, research, and outreach activities on rangeland management. The text also cites that pastoral grazing can reduce catastrophic wildfire risk by up to 60 percent and boost biodiversity.
