Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

11 provisions identified: 5 benefits, 4 costs, 2 mixed.

Work comp license tied to child support

The state denies, suspends, or withholds certain workers' compensation licenses if you fail to pay court-ordered child or family support. It also applies if you ignore a subpoena or warrant from child support agencies. Reviews happen only as set in the s. 49.857 agreement.

More autonomy for dental therapists

A dental therapist who has at least 2,000 hours of supervised work can practice under general supervision. They must have a collaborative management agreement with a qualifying dentist. Before 2,000 hours, they must work under direct or indirect supervision.

Clear rules for using epinephrine

In schools and other covered places, administer means directly using an epinephrine auto-injector or a prefilled syringe on a person. The law aligns terms to epinephrine delivery system. This gives clear rules for staff and responders in emergencies.

Guard and Reserve count as active duty for schools

For the school compact, active duty includes full-time service in the U.S. uniformed services. It also includes National Guard and Reserve members on active duty orders under 10 U.S.C. chapters 1209 and 1211. This helps military families with school transfers and records.

Active-duty status for physical therapy licenses

For the physical therapy licensure compact, active duty means full-time service in the U.S. uniformed services. It also includes National Guard and Reserve members on active duty orders under 10 U.S.C. chapters 1209 and 1211. This supports license portability for those service members.

Counties can hire child welfare agencies

County departments may contract with licensed child welfare agencies to do listed county duties. The state department may do this only in counties with 750,000 or more people. Contracted agencies must follow all confidentiality rules.

Businesses must track charger electricity

Beginning March 22, 2024, registered filers who owe the EV charging tax must track kilowatt-hours delivered by each Level 3 charger and by each Level 1 and 2 charger installed on or after that date. Keep those records for the required tax periods. Provide them to the Department of Revenue on request.

Broader isomer coverage in drug laws

Drug law definitions now treat isomer as an optical isomer in most places. Some listed sections also include geometric or positional isomers. This can expand which chemical forms count as controlled substances.

Governments barred from running public electric chargers

State agencies and local governments cannot own, run, or lease public electric vehicle chargers. They may install chargers only for their own fleet vehicles that are not open to the public. This can reduce some public charging spots.

Family affidavits must note abuse cases

When you file the required family-law affidavit, you must state whether you have any pending or past cases for interspousal battery or domestic abuse. This includes certain restraining order petitions and criminal battery cases. The rule aids courts and safety planning but requires you to report that history.

Deletes ethical government offense definition

The law repeals the statutory definition offense related to ethical government. Removing this term can change how related laws are read or applied.
