Standard Arial font and fees for legal notices

All legal notices must use Arial, a sans serif font. A standard line is 6-point Arial on 6-point leading with no extra spacing, 11 picas long. A person or agency that places a notice may use up to 12-point Arial; the per-line rate must drop in proportion above 6-point so pay per column area stays the same. Nonstandard line lengths are allowed, with fees adjusted for the line length. The Department of Administration evaluates and certifies these adjustments, and its certification is presumptive evidence they are correct. One inch equals 6 picas and 72 points. The law also repeals a legal-notice rule that was previously in state law.
