2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 1 costs, 0 mixed.

Bonding pool money kept separate and invested

Beginning July 1, 2026, the state must deposit all assessment money into a separate account and keep separate records. The state treasurer must invest these funds under state law, and all earnings stay in that same account. The money and the earnings can be spent only on the oil and gas bonding pool.

Bonding fee possible for oil and gas operators

If you operate covered oil or gas wells in Wyoming with a bonding pool bond, an assessment can apply to your production value. From July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2030, the assessment rate is zero. Starting July 1, 2030, the commission may charge up to $0.0005 per dollar of the fair cash market value of oil and gas produced, sold, or moved from your covered wells. To estimate the fee, multiply that value by 0.0005.
