Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

3 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 0 costs, 1 mixed.

More pharmacy care from pharmacists

The law expands what counts as the practice of pharmacy. Pharmacists can interpret, compound, dispense, and administer medical orders and prescriptions. They can counsel patients and assess patients to prescribe certain drugs and devices, under Board of Pharmacy rules. They can provide pharmacist care services and engage in collaborative pharmaceutical care. These changes take effect July 1, 2026.

Pharmacists can refuse collaborative practice

The law does not require any pharmacist to provide collaborative pharmaceutical care. Employers may not punish a pharmacist for declining a collaborative practice agreement. These protections take effect July 1, 2026.

Board rules now, main law 2026

The Wyoming Board of Pharmacy must write rules to carry out this law. Board rules govern collaborative pharmaceutical care. The rulemaking and effective-date sections take effect as soon as the bill becomes law. Most other changes start July 1, 2026.
