Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 0 costs, 0 mixed.

Higher Medicaid pay for ambulance trips

Beginning July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2028, Wyoming Medicaid pays emergency ground ambulances at 100% of the current Medicare rate. Payments cannot be more than the provider’s or department’s usual billed charge. The Department of Health also sets higher rural and super‑rural fee schedules for the same period. These changes apply to emergency services by ground ambulance providers.

State funds higher ambulance Medicaid rates

Starting July 1, 2026, the Department of Health gets $1.3 million in state funds and $1.3 million in federal funds to pay the higher Medicaid ambulance rates. The money can only be used for this purpose and cannot be moved. Any unused funds revert on June 30, 2028. The law states the Legislature’s intent to include this in the next standard budget.
