Summary

Boards set up under this chapter must follow the same membership rules in section 1187 that apply to boards under chapter 60. When subsection (b) of section 1187 is used for a board under this chapter, the Secretary of the Air Force may add retired Air Force officers as well as retired Space Force officers to fill the board. A retired Air Force officer can only be appointed if they served long enough in a space-related Air Force job so the Secretary finds they understand the performance and conduct standards expected of a Space Force officer.
