The Secretary of a military department can lend cots, blankets, mattresses, and other supplies, and let a recognized national veterans’ group use unused barracks for its national or state convention or for a national youth sports or recreation tournament. The group and the Secretary agree on delivery and return details. The veterans’ group must pay any U.S. costs for moving, fixing, or replacing the items, and the Secretary must require a bond to guarantee the items are returned in good condition.
