Title 10 › Subtitle Subtitle A— - General Military Law › Part PART II— - PERSONNEL › Chapter CHAPTER 45— - THE UNIFORM › § 774
Members of the armed forces may wear religious clothing with their uniform. The Secretary in charge can ban it if it would interfere with a member’s duties or if, under that Secretary’s rules, the item is not tidy and modest. Each Secretary must write rules about wearing religious clothing that follow those limits. "Religious apparel" means clothing worn as part of practicing a member’s faith.
