section 8296 of this title, prior to repeal by Pub. L. 96–513, title II, § 202, Dec. 12, 1980, 94 Stat. 2878, effective Sept. 15, 1981. See

Amendments
2018—Pub. L. 115–232 renumbered
section 6011 of this title as this section. 1981—Pub. L. 97–60 struck out “with the approval of the President” after “Secretary of the Navy”.

Issued Before October 14, 1981 Pub. L. 97–60, title II, § 204(b), Oct. 14, 1981, 95 Stat. 1007, provided that: “United States Navy
Regulations
issued under
section 6011 of title 10, United States Code, before the date of the enactment of this Act [Oct. 14, 1981] shall remain in effect in accordance with their terms until amended or revoked by the Secretary of the Navy.”
