Title 10 › Subtitle Subtitle C— - Navy and Marine Corps › Part PART IV— - GENERAL ADMINISTRATION › Chapter CHAPTER 871— - CIVILIAN EMPLOYEES › § 8747
Allows civilian Navy employees posted outside the United States to have their dependents and household goods moved between the overseas post and locations the employee or family picks, and back to the new duty station. The government can pack and unpack the household goods, and the moves can use government or commercial carriers and can happen before or after the employee is relieved from the overseas post. Instead of moving dependents, the Secretary can pay, after the travel is done, the actual commercial transportation cost, including taxes if paid. Money already available for travel and transportation may be used to pay for these moves.
