Drivers covered by this law who are in a crash that injures someone or damages property must not leave the scene if they do so without helping injured people or without giving their name and ID to others at the scene or to the authorities. A passenger who is the driver’s superior or the vehicle’s commander must not order, cause, or allow the driver to leave the scene in the same way—without helping injured people or without giving identification.
