To help protect people and property at sea and to make NOAA’s weather reports, forecasts, and warnings more useful for safe trade and travel, the Commandant can work with the NOAA Administrator. The Commandant may buy, keep, and provide equipment and help to watch, study, send, and share weather data and warnings. They must agree on the terms of their cooperation.
