Last updated Apr 6, 2026|Official source

Summary

A promoter cannot get paid for a boxing match until they give the state boxing commission a copy of any written deal with the boxer, a signed statement under penalty of perjury saying there are no other deals, and full details of money and charges. That includes all fees, parts of the boxer’s purse the promoter will take, training costs, any payments or gifts to sanctioning organizations, and any cut to the boxer’s purse that breaks a prior agreement or a purse bid. The promoter also cannot get paid until the boxer gets the same payment and fee information. The promoter must give these disclosures to the state’s chief law enforcement officer if asked.
