Title 15 › Chapter CHAPTER 2— - FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION; PROMOTION OF EXPORT TRADE AND PREVENTION OF UNFAIR METHODS OF COMPETITION › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER III— - LABELING OF WOOL PRODUCTS › § 68g
You are protected from a criminal charge under the law if you have an honest written guarantee that is signed and shows the name and U.S. address of the person who made or supplied the wool product, and that says the product is not mislabeled. The guarantee can be a one-time paper on the invoice or a standing guarantee filed with the Commission. If someone gives a false guarantee, that is an unfair and deceptive business practice under the Federal Trade Commission Act. A person who relied on a similar honest guarantee is not guilty unless they had reason to think the guarantee might be false.
