Defines key words used for selling and using leftover wood from timber sales. Anticipated cost of removal — the estimated cost to move leftover wood from the sale area to where it will be used, set by the Secretary when the sale is advertised. Anticipated value — the estimated value of that leftover wood as fuel or other sellable wood products, set by the Secretary when the sale is advertised. Points of prospective use — the places where the wood will be sold or used, decided by the Secretary. Person — any individual, company, trust, government agency, or other legal entity. Secretary — the Secretary of Agriculture. Wood residues — leftover wood such as logging slash, down timber, woody plants, and live or dead trees that do not meet use standards or are extra to growing-stock needs.
