The Secretary must report to the congressional committees that oversee the program. Every two years the report must estimate the number of acres of wetlands and bird habitat restored, protected, or improved in the United States, Canada, and Mexico; describe trends in North American migratory bird populations and where they are found; report on progress making Western Hemisphere agreements under section 4413; and list funded projects by type, protection method (like purchase, easement, or lease), location, and duration. Each year the Secretary must update the status of wetlands projects and provide a financial accounting of what Federal, State, and other U.S. entities spent and what Canadian and Mexican sources spent to carry out the projects.
