Summary

Protect and manage the Mount Pleasant National Scenic Area to preserve its scenic character, water quality, natural features, and water resources. Manage vegetation to support fish and wildlife, allow areas to develop old‑growth characteristics, and provide recreation that fits these goals.

Title 16, §545

The purposes of section 545 and 545a of this title with respect to the Mount Pleasant National Scenic Area are to—
(1)ensure appropriate protection and preservation of the scenic quality, water quality, natural characteristics, and water resources;
(2)protect and manage vegetation to provide wildlife and fish habitat, consistent with paragraph (1);
(3)provide areas that may develop characteristics of old-growth forests; and
(4)provide a variety of recreation opportunities that are not inconsistent with the preceding purposes.
