Title 16 › Chapter CHAPTER 3— - FORESTS; FOREST SERVICE; REFORESTATION; MANAGEMENT › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER I— - GENERAL PROVISIONS › § 577g
Each year, the Treasury must pay Minnesota 0.75% (three-quarters of one percent) of the fair appraised value of the national-forest lands inside the area described in section 577d. The money comes from national-forest receipts that are not already used for other purposes. The payment is divided among the three counties named in section 577d based on the appraised value of forest land in each county. The Secretary of Agriculture will set that appraised value every ten years, and that decision is final. The first payment is due at the end of the first full fiscal year after June 22, 1948. Section 500 does not apply to these lands.
