Title 16 › Chapter CHAPTER 83— - CORAL REEF CONSERVATION › § 6406
Starting in fiscal year 2023, if money is available the Administrator must give each covered State a block grant of at least $500,000 each year to help manage and restore coral reefs and carry out approved coral reef action plans. The Administrator will check grant applications to make sure they match those plans and the National Coral Reef Resilience Strategy. The Administrator must also give guidance on how to document spending, ask for applications each year, and decide how to divide any extra funds. States must report how they use the federal money and certain non‑federal funds. The Administrator may make cooperative agreements with States or the All Islands Committee to support work that follows the plans and strategy.
