Title 16 › Chapter CHAPTER 5A— - PROTECTION AND CONSERVATION OF WILDLIFE › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER I— - GAME, FUR-BEARING ANIMALS, AND FISH › § 667g
States may ask the Commodity Credit Corporation for grain that the Corporation got through its price-support programs when bad weather or other problems put resident game birds and other resident wildlife at risk of starving. A request must come from the State fish and game agency (or a similar state agency) and the Secretary of the Interior must find the area is seriously threatened. The grain is given only to the proper state agencies for use under sections 667g to 667g–2, in amounts the state and the Corporation agree on, and the state must repay the Corporation for packaging and shipping.
