Anyone who works as a farm credit examiner or any other examiner must not tell anyone the names of borrowers of a Federal land bank, a Federal land bank association, or related organizations unless they first get written permission from the Land Bank Commissioner or the institution’s board, or are ordered by a court or by Congress (either House) or a properly authorized congressional committee. If they reveal names without one of those permissions, they can be fined under federal law, jailed for up to one year, or both, and they will be barred from serving as a farm credit examiner.
