Intentionally stopping or trying to stop someone from using their voting rights under the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (the law for military and overseas voters) is a crime. It is also a crime to lie to make someone eligible to register or vote under that law, or to pay, offer to pay, or accept payment for registering or voting. Anyone who does these things can be fined under federal law, jailed for up to five years, or both.
