Title 18 › Part PART I— - CRIMES › Chapter CHAPTER 33— - EMBLEMS, INSIGNIA, AND NAMES › § 706
You must not wear or show the Red Cross sign or a mark that looks like it if your goal is to trick people into thinking you are a member or agent of the American National Red Cross. Also, no one except the American National Red Cross, its authorized employees and agents, or the U.S. armed forces’ medical and hospital authorities may use the Greek red cross on a white background, any sign or mark made to look like it, or the words "Red Cross" or "Geneva Cross" or any mix of those words. If you break this rule, you can be fined under federal law, jailed for up to six months, or both. Uses that were legal when this law was passed are still allowed.
