States must give the Secretary, when asked, information about how schools get licensed or otherwise allowed to operate in the State. States must also tell the Secretary right away if they take away a school’s license or permission to operate. States must tell the Secretary right away if they have reliable evidence that a school has committed fraud in student aid programs or has seriously broken a rule under this law. When a college or university is being certified under subpart 3 of this part, the school must give the Secretary proof that the State allows it to operate.
