Title 20 › Chapter CHAPTER 28— - HIGHER EDUCATION RESOURCES AND STUDENT ASSISTANCE › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER V— - DEVELOPING INSTITUTIONS › Part Part C— - General Provisions › § 1103d
Eligible Hispanic-serving institutions can get special help when they apply for certain federal programs. The Secretary may, following rules they set, either waive the requirement that the school pay part of the project costs or give the school priority in competing for the award, if the application would otherwise be approved. This help applies to programs under subchapter IV or section 1124. The Secretary cannot waive the matching requirement if approved awards would use more than 10 percent of that program’s appropriations in any fiscal year.
