Provides federal help to states so they can plan and improve career education and career development for people of all ages, from childhood through adulthood. It focuses on helping people learn about jobs, explore choices, make plans, and decide on careers. The help covers six planning areas: gathering information on needs; encouraging a national conversation so states and local agencies pick the best approaches; reviewing current programs and bias by race or sex; creating and testing model programs and regional centers; training staff; and making state and local plans so everyone can gain the skills needed for work and full participation in society.
